Curious about something in one of the final scenes of 1959 Ben Hur?
In one of the final scenes, after the crucifixion, Judah (Charlton Heston) returns home. He crosses the courtyard and headed for the door. Before entering the shelter, he stops to repair something on the right wall is broken. What is he fixing and what does it mean? Director William Wyler why see this as something to understand?
This is a Mezuzah, a box with attached scripts, where all the Jewish homes. There should be a mezuzah at the entrance of every Jewish home and the door jamb of the main rooms in the home.
