Tricycle Rear
Someone make a kit for converting a bicycle or tricycle adult gas power? Is this a work kit bike?
I adult tricycle with front brake and rear basket, single speed, steel frame I bought from the estate of an elderly woman. Her big basket and the perfect size to carry around my gear on the river trails. The only problem is that its speed and can not do all the hills. I am looking for a kit to convert it into electrical energy (preferably) or possibly a gas engine. I heard that the kits for a bicycle does not work and will require additional parts, but I do not know what additional parts. Does anybody know a website or store that sells conversion kits specifically focused on tricycles? I saw the full converted trikes for sale, but I can not not find the conversion kits everywhere. Thank you for the help!
You can install a "front hub" electric bicycle kit easily on a tricycle. Since the engine is built directly into the front hub, almost no change is necessary. Just off the front wheel replaced by hub motor / wheel, run the wiring and mounting the battery / controller. A battery should be very easy to install on the back of a tricycle.
